Green shoots on the plateau

Excitement overshadowed subtle nerves as Ryleigh Miller took to her first official outing as Linesperson at the weekend.

Officiating three home game matches, Ryleigh did a fantastic job racking up valuable experience and confidence as she eyes off centre stage.

Female participation in football in Australia has been growing significantly over the past few years. Dorrigo Highlanders FC is ahead of the curve boasting one of the largest female participations rates on the mid coast when it comes to registered players, coaches, managers and committee members.... and now seeded deeper with Ryleigh's entry into the match officials realm.

Sponsored by the Dorrigo Highlanders Football Club, Ryleigh and dad Rob Miller completed their Referees Course with North Coast Football a couple of months back. For many the frustration of not having a Ref assigned to our home games will soon be a thing of the past as our homegrown talent plug that gap.
